On Sunday April 20, we went down to the Distillery District for the last Leslieville Flea of the spring. It was a beautiful sunny (but slightly chilly) Easter Sunday, and we headed right to the indoor market. Once June rolls around, this market will move outdoors to Leslieville.

We were tipped off by one of the vendors of the Annex Flea the weekend before.

Some of the stalls were the same, but most were new, and selling different wares.

These glass insulators were available in many beautiful shades.

Lots of the dishes available looked like something from our Gichan or Oma’s kitchens. And the 30-year-old Osterizer blenders were exactly the same as the one our parents still have!

The Distillery District of Toronto, if you couldn’t tell, was an actual whisky distillery over a hundred years ago. The old Gooderham and Worts Distillery is now a network of beautiful brick heritage buildings which houses restaurants, cafes, design stores, a theatre, and a chocolate shop, among others.  The neighbourhood has some great events, like the Christmas Market in December, craft shows and music festivals. After browsing the Flea, we were hungry so we wandered around a bit and then ate lunch at the Mill Street Brewery – it was too windy to sit outside on any patios. But we’ll be back!
