I like detailed illustrations and paintings, especially when they are about food! I’ve found some inspiring, delicious prints from Etsy and a few other sites. I even bought the one about the farmer’s market for my own apartment. Enjoy!

veggie seasonality

The Veggie Seasonality print shows which veggies grow and are available in each season. It’s a great reminder to choose foods when they are freshly harvested, especially in highly seasonal places like Toronto (it can be -40C with windchill in winter, or almost 50C with the humidex in the summer). Ripe peaches in the summer are lusciously spectacular.

British Food Collection

Joel Penkman has a collection of beautiful prints of traditional British foods, like Stilton cheese, pork pie and tea. It makes me want to go grocery shopping for crumpets, farls, pasties and jams.

Meet Me at the Farmer's Market

I even bought this farmer’s market print from The Wheat Field, and hung it in my kitchen. I like to get veggies and fruits in seasons at the various farmers’ markets around Ontario.

know your ethiopianThe Know Your Ethiopian print has details about common Ethiopian dishes with injera. This is a great meal to share with friends and family, since the platter isn’t meant for just one person!  Toronto has several amazing Ethiopian restaurants, with many around the Bloor and Ossington area. The small piles of stews are extremely flavourful and varied. There is sure to be a favourite for everyone.

les petites douceurs

Lovely sweets from Eva Juliet! I have a sweet tooth, and all of these confections look delectable. Thankfully, macarons are almost too small to share.
