On Sunday April 13, Tomiko, Donatello and I visited the Annex Flea at 720 Bathurst St, just south of Bloor St.
There were a couple of tasty treat vendors, including the resident coffee shop, a pie stall, and a galette stall.
So many stalls had awesome vintage glassware, in sets and as individual pieces.
We weren’t sure what this is, but it looks like a drink dispenser.
Milk glass is so sweet and pretty.
There were also a couple of awesome typewriters.
Our brother works in printing, and he says be careful when you handle this old type, since it’s made of lead.
We bought three adorable cards from gotamago: one with sumo wrestlers, one with maneki-neko, and one with cupcakes!
So much great stuff, including an old folding bike!
There was a stall that just sold used cashmere sweaters for $20 a pop – such a great deal! We got four. The vendor told us that there is a series of Toronto neighbourhood flea markets, including the Junction Flea at the Evergreen Brickworks (next one is May 18), and the Leslieville Flea at the Distillery District (next one is April 20). The Leslieville Flea is on Easter Sunday, so there is an egg treasure hunt for kids and the young at heart.
See you next time!
Would love to visit this flea market and just poke around…is it every week? It seems to move around.
I’m not sure if the whole market rotates, but for sure some of the vendors do. And they choose really nice locations too, like the Distillery District- have you been there yet?
I think a trip to Toronto might be on the horizon – for the flea market alone!
Yes! When are you coming?
