Sail Past from Kiku Corner
To open the sailing season each year, one of the local yacht clubs has a sail past on the Victoria Day weekend. All of the ships in the club must sail past the commodore while he salutes the fleet, one by one. Check out this year’s commodore above, which when we first saw him, he was riding a folding bike and smoking a pipe in front of the yacht club! Classic!

Another ship in the fleet, with everyone formally dressed in blue blazers and ties, white shirts and pants. So posh!

The raising of the flags. Each colour indicates a win in a race, yellow being first place. This ship is evidently a very successful racer!

Here´s me and Karlos looking very glamourous while freezing in front of our scrumptious picnic. In case you’re wondering, that beverage in front of us is a dirty martini. We didn’t have any olives, so I tried some capers to give it that particular briny flavour. In a pinch, it was the perfect substitute!
