Montreal Eats: Brunch at Park

Our brother Karlos first heard of Park Restaurant on Munchies’ Hangover Cures. The episode was about Chefs Matty Matheson and Antonio Park drinking too much and then attempting to cook hangover food the next morning. This show is funny and a bit disturbing in places, especially anything involving Matty.

What really stood out though, is that despite Antonio being in visible hung-over pain, he still managed to cook a healthy and delicious meal. Plus, Antonio is a Korean-Argentinian who lived in Paraguay, Brazil, and finally Canada, and is obsessed with Japanese cuisine. What a perfect example of a Third Culture Kid, whose stories we love hearing about. We just had to go to his restaurant this year in Montreal.

Donatello and I tried the tofu jap chae (sweet potato noodles), grilled salmon bibimbap (mixed with wild rice), and lychee saketini. All super delicate and exquisite.

We also had to try the Kimchi Caesar in honour of the Hangover Cures. Karlos had the daily special, which was chirashi sushi with scallops, shrimp and chinook salmon. Completely delectable!
