On our recent trip to New York, Ryan’s to-do list included eating excellent pizza. While we had a great pizza at Patsy’s Pizzeria in Manhattan, the slices at Vinnie’s were really amazing!
We took the L train from Manhattan to Brooklyn to tour some flea markets. Around lunch time we started to feel hungry, and we luckily stumbled upon Vinnie’s Pizzeria. The restaurant was tiny with just four or five tables, and a bunch of teenagers were having their lunch there as well. I think we were the only tourists!
The slices were a great price and had myriad toppings: there were even separate meat, vegetarian and vegan menus. Our dad had Ranchero with BBQ chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese and ranch dressing. A lot of the toppings were uncommon but delicious-sounding, like peaches (on the Southern Comfort slice), elbow macaroni (on the Mac Attack), and pico de gallo (on the Avocado Quesadilla).
I had the Florentine pizza with spinach, tomatoes and feta cheese. Delicious!
Tomiko ate this slice, with eggplant parmesan and creamy dollops of ricotta. To die for!
The pizza crusts were thin but crunchy, and held up well to the copious toppings we had.
