On our Quebec Culinary Adventure, Tomiko and I spent two nights in Quebec City. On the second evening, Tomiko and I waited about 15 minutes to get a table for two at Le Chic Shack, a popular and busy restaurant in Upper Town part of Quebec City. The wait gave us ample time to decide on what we wanted to order, before being led to our table.
The restaurant was located on the corner of a busy square that is basically the front lawn of the Fairmont Château Frontenac.
We ordered our meal at the cashier and then waited at our table for two, which was equipped with ketchup, mustard, cutlery, and lots and lots of napkins.
We shared two dishes: the only poutine on our Quebec Culinary Adventure and a delicious salad. Here we have La Verte, a green salad topped with pickled onions, brioche croutons, flakes of Parmesan cheese, with an additional two house-made veggie patties and the lemon dressing on the side. The salad was excellent, with just the right amount of crunch, tang, and sweetness.
La Forestière Poutine was the vegetarian poutine option that consisted of crispy hand-smashed potatoes topped with wild mushroom ragout, Parmesan, fresh local cheese curds, shallots, and fresh herbs. And as I read in Made In Quebec, a good poutine is served in a bowl so that the gravy stays hot and melts the cheese.
Le Chic Shack also has amazing milkshakes, ice cream sandwiches, and burgers, but we didn’t have the appetites to tackle all of those. The service was quick and friendly while the food tasty and filling. We will definitely be back!

I love the upcycled container on the table with the condiments, cutlery, and napkins. I would actually love to do that for our home. Thanks for linking up at the Bloggers Brags party, I pinned your post to our group board.
Wow!! Those bowls full of food looks great!! Thanks for sharing on My 2 Favorite Things on Thursday! Hope to see you again this week! Pinned!
I tried Le Chic Shack when I was in Quebec City as well – it was featured on You Gotta Eat Here! Had the bourbon vanilla milk shake and smoked meat poutine – pretty good, almost worth all the hype!
