These Overpass Mittens, designed by Amy Gunderson, have a beautiful textured stitch. I made them in a happy bright yellow, a perfect foil to the miserable ice storm weekend we just had in Toronto! To make the mittens, I used 2 skeins of Rowan Pure Wool Superwash DK in bright yellow, which I bought from Romni Wools, one of our favourite yarn shops.
The mitten body and thumb are completed in a FPdc stitch. The pattern instructs to crochet the ribbing separately and then seam it into a cylinder, to which the mitten body is then worked. The ribbed cuff is stretchy and ensures that the mittens stay snug! The mittens can be worn with the cuff rolled up as an extra layer, or worn unrolled so they are super long.
I completed the Overpass Mittens in size medium and used a 3.5 mm hook to get gauge.
I love the stitch pattern of these mittens, and how the thumb is worked onto the mitten without a seam, making an invisible connection.
The Overpass Mittens pattern is published in Crocheted Mitts & Mittens by Amy Gunderson. These finished mittens are available to purchase in our Etsy shop.
Just gorgeous, I love the color! This is beyond my level, I want someone to make them for me ;_;
Great color choice. Love the texture.

I bought a 10-pack and used just over 6 skeins, about 765 m. I had previous used the same yarn to crochet these Overpass Mittens. […]
