DIY: Geneva Cowl and Free Pattern

The Geneva Cowl uses the gattelin rock stitch, which I found on Pinterest. I started working on this cowl when we were in Cartagena for our winter vacation. It was too hot to go out during the day and the yarn (a cotton/merino mix) was cool enough to handle as we rested at our villa.

I chose a bright pink yarn to show off the stitch pattern and decided to add an accent stripe in grey (my new favourite colour for clothing). Unlike the other cowls featured here on Kiku Corner, this cowl is knit in a long rectangle and attached together at the end using the Kitchener stitch. It fits rather loose around the neck, so it is more suited as an accent piece rather than a deep winter accessory.
