I knit the Skógafjall pullover! When Tomiko and I went to Iceland last summer, I bought enough Lettlopi specifically for this sweater. I also bought Lettlopi for the Telja pullover, also available for sale in our Etsy shop.
I initially wanted to knit this for myself, but by now I think I have enough thick and cozy pullovers (including the Ar Tresins pullover). So now this finished sweater is available in our Etsy shop! I love the contrast of the light and olive green, and I also love the tree motif on the yoke.
I knit the size that would fit me, with a bust measurement of 43.5″. Due to my loose gauge, I sized my needles down and used 3.0 mm needles throughout the body. As my gauge is tighter when using bamboo double-pointed needles, I used 3.0 mm needles for the ribbing and 3.75 mm needles for the sleeves.
In total, I used 8.25 skeins of the main colour Lyme Grass, 1.1 skeins of the light Spring Green Heather, and .75 skeins of the Grey. Unlike my recent Telja pullover, this pattern only uses a maximum of two colours per row. That makes the stranded colourwork much easier and faster! I started knitting this at a day-long work meeting on February 7, and I cast off the neck just three weeks later on February 26. It’s a quick knit!
Although the pattern does not include waist shaping as written, you could add it in yourself. I like the loose fit, and this sweater would suit all genders. The size ranges from a bust of 31″ to 51″, or 79 cm to 130 cm.
This is the second Dianna Walla pullover that I have knit; my first was my first ever sweater, the Lyngen! It seems like Dianna likes to write bottom-up sweaters, which is not my favourite method. After knitting several sweaters myself, I prefer top-down sweater knitting. Working the yoke with the whole body and flapping sleeves is cumbersome. Plus, I like to admire the finished yoke while I’m knitting all that stockinette!
To improve the fit, the designer added some short rows to the back. This raises the back neck while lowering the front neck, so that when you wear the sweater you don’t feel ‘choked’ by the ribbing. A simple one by one rib finishes the cuffs and hem.
The Skógafjall pattern is available here on Ravelry.

That is beautiful! I was supposed to take a Portugese knitting class this week but it is canceled. Apparently that technique is better for your hands. I’ve been able to crochet pain-free but knitting hurts. Maybe later!
That is beautiful and the colors are fabulous!
That’s a fabulous sweater! I’ve never knitted a sweater before but I’d love to try. I do enjoy making things, it’s so satisfying. Thanks for linking up!
